Major League Softball, Inc. provides adult slow pitch softball programs throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, & San Bernardino counties.  We are always looking for reliable people to officiate our adult softball leagues. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $26.00 per game - cash paid on the field same day.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous umpiring experience is a plus but MLS will train you.  You must have strong knowledge in the game of baseball / softball.  Enjoyment of being outdoors and working with the public are musts.  Officials must be responsible, RELIABLE, punctual and able to provide their own transportation.  Daily access to email + a cell phone with texting capability will be required for scheduling.  Candidates must be 21 or older with a clean background.

GENERAL UMPIRE DUTIES:
You will perform One Man Mechanics for Adult Slow Pitch Softball games.  All umpires are required to demonstrate competence on the field, after passing a S.C.M.A.F. Certification test and on-field audition, in order to receive shift assignments.  Umpires must arrive at their assigned park no fewer than 15 minutes prior to the first game to walk the field to ensure players safety and set up the field (bases/cones/mat).  A typical WEEKNIGHT shift consists of 2 - 4  games scheduled back to back (games are typically 60-75 min each). WEEKEND shifts may be anywhere from 2 - 8 games.  Officials are contracted out a month in advance based on availability that you submit yourself.  All accepted shifts must be confirmed for DAILY.  Umpires are required to provide their own uniform and equipment (cones, plate mat, ball bag & handheld indicator).
